“Tell your mom that you’re not coming home tonight”
(Foreign Leisure Records // October 17, 2025)
It’s one of those stories that makes indie music history both exciting and heartbreaking. In a perfect world, Troubled Hubble‘s 2005 album, Making Beds in a Burning House, would be mentioned in the same breath as classics like The Dismemberment Plan’s Emergency & I or Built to Spill’s Keep it Like a Secret. It had the smart, nervous energy, the irresistible hooks, and that manic live show enthusiasm poured into every meticulously recorded note, all thanks to production by Jason Caddell of The Dismemberment Plan.
The album even found a home on a legendary roster: Lookout! Records.
But as fate would have it, Troubled Hubble was one of the last bands signed to the iconic pop-punk label. Not long after Making Beds hit the shelves, the label folded, and the band was done. The music, however, was not.
The legend of Making Beds in a Burning House has only grown over the past two decades, pushing the original vinyl into the terrifyingly expensive “how much?!” category on Discogs. Collectors drool, and fans pine for a repress.
The wait is finally over.
Foreign Leisure Records is thrilled to announce the 20th Anniversary Vinyl Edition of Troubled Hubble’s Making Beds in a Burning House, set for release on October 17, 2025!
This isn’t just a straight repress—it’s a full-on restoration of a true lost treasure:
- Remixed and remastered for 2025: The album sounds sharper and more vital than ever before.
- New Liner Notes: Featuring insightful writing by Jim Hanke of the Vinyl Emergency podcast.
- Redesigned Artwork: Presented in a gatefold sleeve, complete with never-before-seen photos and a hype sticker proclaiming, “a true lost treasure” (Stephen Thompson of NPR Music).
- Extremely Limited Edition: Only 500 copies of the physical LP will be pressed on “house-on-fire” flame-colored vinyl, lovingly manufactured in Chicago by Smashed Plastic.
And for the digital fans, the re-release will also include the non-album track “Finding Passion in an Open Field” plus acoustic versions of several Making Beds tracks.
