Get ready, fans! Troubled Hubble are celebrating a major milestone with the 20th Anniversary Edition of their classic album, Making Beds In A Burning House. This beloved record, which has been out-of-print for two decades, is making its triumphant return on vinyl, via Foreign Leisure, newly remixed and remastered for a new generation of listeners.

The vinyl pressing, a translucent “HOUSE-IN-FLAMES” variant from Smashed Plastic, is a highly limited edition, with only 500 copies available. It’s the first time the album has been on vinyl in 20 years, making this a must-have for collectors. The physical release features an expanded gatefold sleeve with updated artwork by original designer Kyle Romberg, rare photos, printed inner sleeves, and full lyrics. It also includes new liner notes written by Jim Hanke of Vinyl Emergency.

The 2025 reissue features a new remix by Bobby Lord, with mastering by Greg Obis at Chicago Mastering Service and vinyl mastering by Carl Saff. The album’s original recording took place at Inner Ear Studios, and the tapes were digitally transferred by Electrical Audio. The tracklist includes all 13 original songs, such as fan favorites “Nancy” and “I’m Pretty Sure I Can See Molecules.”

For those who prefer a digital format, a new 2025 digital version will also be available. This version comes with an exclusive, non-album bonus track called “Finding Passion in an Open Field.”

What the Fans Are Saying

“FOREVER A CLASSIC! Man, I remember discovering Troubled Hubble back in the day, I am pretty sure on the now defunct 15-megs-of-fame. This album just gets better with age.” — Remy Owen

“This album speaks to me still. I have a sketch book full of lyric-inspired drawings…literally every song stirred my own creativity! Thanks for the inspiration!” — Aloni Akers

“I love this album so much.” — Brian Brock

The album is set to ship out on or around October 17, 2025, and is available for pre-order on Bandcamp for $28 USD or more. Don’t wait to secure your copy of this “true lost treasure” as praised by Stephen Thompson of NPR Music.

The misleadingly titled “14,000 Things to Be Happy About” is a sparkling pop-rock gem, complete with a shiny, bashing chorus about dying “young and exciting.” But there’s so much more to singer Chris Otepka‘s brilliant lyric, as his song addresses the way the idealistic belligerence of youth gives way to the compromises and mounting disappointments of adulthood. Along the way, he punctures the hollow rewards of human interaction — “We’ll take the fake happy over knowing what’s wrong / and give you the stuff that you need to belong” — while expertly chronicling the ways in which youth’s hope and promise can be extinguished before the opportunities themselves fade away for real. -NPR: Songs For A Drab And Unfulfilling Existence 10-09-2008 Stephen Thompson
